How to Select a Probate and Estate Planning Attorney

When hiring a probate attorney, most people will rely upon referrals from friends or associates and these referrals can produce positive results. Others may simply go online and do a Google search.

Google searches aren’t always reliable, though, so proceed with caution. For example, if you run across an attorney who has dozens or even one hundred or more 5star review, and yet has only been practicing a short time, its likely those rating are not authentic. They are probably the result of a robust and expensive ad campaign. It’s just not possible for an attorney in practice ten years or less to gather 100 five-star reviews against no ratings below five stars. Authenticity and honesty are two things every client should look for in a Probate Attorney. When you visit one of these dubious sites, you’re starting off on the wrong foot. Referrals are still the best way to find counsel, but if you do go online, look for experienced, competent attorneys with honest, legitimate, believable online credentials.
